Flip Video, which has recently been absorbed by Cisco, regularly releases YouTube-friendly point-and-shoot mini camcorders with the 2009 models being the two updated versions of the Ultra. The higher-end Flip UltraHD Camcorder shoots 720p (1280x720) high-definition video while the less expensive Ultra shoots 640x480 VGA video.

This new model sports a 2-inch LCD display on the back. The buttons are also bigger and the casing has a rubberized, matte finish for an easier grip. The Flip UltraHD Camcorder comes in black or white. This mini camcorder ships with a set of AA-size NiMH batteries (rechargeable) that can be charged in the unit by simply connecting the camcorder to the USB port on your computer. You can also use standard AA batteries to power this device. That standard battery backup option is a nice convenience but as standard batteries are heavier, expect to find the camcorder a bit heavier than its Li-ion powered predecessors. This little sucker is currently the worlds smallest HD camcorder weighing in at 3.3 oz. It records up to 60 minutes of 720p(1280x780). It comes standard with a flip out USB port that plugs right into your computer, so you never have to worry about carrying a USB cable with you when you go traveling, or even worry about loosing you cable.

Enough about the technical stuff for now, the really cool thing about this camera is that fact that you can customize the hell out of it. When you order it you can choose from different designs that Flip has in their database. Can't find something that you like, well that makes sense everyone has different tastes. Why not have the design on your new camera be a picture that you upload to their site and use that? This has the be best idea that I have ever come heard of. What a better way to make the camera your own.

The Flip Mino Hd camcorder also records your videos already in a format that you can upload to your favorite video sharing site instantly with the supplied software. The only downside that I see with this camera is the non expandable memory. You are unable to stick a memory card in and get more memory. I don't know about you, but this would be more than enough for me and I wouldn't really need more, I can plan to transfer the video to my computer before I have to record some more.
